Specific types of leggings for winter sports

Using leggings is not going into the first shop and buying a piece of clothing from cotton for daily use during mid-season. There are leggings that are really efficient for skiing.

Simple leggings without feet from wool

In its definition, these leggings are simply tights without the feet part. In the same way that there are tights from wool that are breathable there are leggings from natural wool. Choose them from merino, 100% or with a bit of elastane to make it more extensible. Thanks to them, your body keeps its warmth and eliminates respiration. Attention, do not wear woolen leggings and double fleece pants. Only in really low temperatures.

Technical leggings

– Coolmax is a synthetic material that thermo-regulates your body. Coolmax allows the humidity to escape effectively. This fabric dries out very fast and offers you optimal comfort during sport.

– Elastane is a second skin to keep you warm. This material has a good breathabilty. For a general sport session elastane is also your ally.

-Lycra is a very extensible material that keeps the skier very free in their movements and keeps their body at the right temperature without being too warm.

Fleece leggings

Let’s dispel the misconception that leggings are only good as pajamas. In fact, polar leggings are not only stylish but also incredibly comfortable and warm. They are designed to provide optimal insulation. Putting them on is effortless, and they remain securely in place even when worn under pants.

Your size and model

Leggings are available in a range of sizes for men and women. Icebreaker offers stylish options priced between €100 and €300, while Arc’teryx provides technical leggings around €250. Icebreaker’s merino wool and elastane leggings come in various colors and designs. For children, Decathlon and GoSport offer affordable models priced from €20 to €80. Leggings bring real comfort. Under ski pants, quite tight, leggings are a warm layer that moves at the same time as you. Under snowboard pants which are pretty wide, leggings allow you to have a second skin directly while the pants are a bit far from your body. Leggings make the perfect addition to your snowboard outfit.

Staying light

Leggings made from Lycra or Coolmax are incredibly lightweight and thin, providing a barely-there feel. They seamlessly integrate into your outfit, adding minimal weight and allowing you to perform jumps and movements without any hindrance or discomfort.

Practical aspect

Ski leggings offer the versatility to combine your skiing experience with other sports activities. Whether you enjoy jogging or indoor sports, simply pair your ski leggings with a t-shirt and sneakers, and you’re ready to engage in another activity without the need for additional attire. Women can even wear colored leggings under a skirt or tunic, creating a stylish après-ski outfit for the resort. This flexibility allows you to seamlessly transition between different activities while maintaining comfort and a fashionable appearance.
